Sharing Resources

Our Lord Jesus taught us that we are in His family, and His family shares with one another. The early church practiced this. The attitude of selfishness was replaced by a spirit of sharing.

As anyone had need, they sold what they owned and shared with everyone. Acts 2:45

Most churches have many tangibles, physical resources that we use only occasionally such as VBS materials, backdrops, drama props, vans, facilities, partitions, bus, music stands, instruments, AV equipment, music, sports equipment…… These resources we can share also include people. You can list teams and volunteers from your church that can assist other churches such as a Choir Christmas Cantata, a Repair team, a Landscape team, a VBS team, etc.

Now, you have a way to share the resources our Father has entrusted to your stewardship with other churches in the Cape Fear Network of Baptist Churches. There are 2 pages available for you to use in sharing those resources:

Missionary House

In the mid-1980s, the Wilmington Baptist Association decided to build a house for furloughing missionaries. There was not one in this part of the state.  Providing a house would help meet the needs of missionaries who return to the states for a number of months, and It would provide local churches with an opportunity to have missionaries who could give firsthand experiences to our local congregations.

Mr. A.H. Harell, a local developer, donated the land in the Brookfield community and gave oversight to the project.  Volunteers came together, the house was built and many of our churches helped furnish it. The house is wonderful and since the construction of the house, missionaries from over 20 different countries have stayed in our house.

Our missionary house at 202 Northbrook Dr. has become the stateside location of many missionaries. Many of these missionaries have stayed in the house multiple times over the years. It is very possible that your church has been blessed by the missionaries who spoke in your church, thanks to the house we provide. It is a 3-bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, with dining room, and 2 family rooms.

After 40 years, we replaced our back porch/deck area, which is also the primary entrance to the house. Churches and individuals in our Network gave and worked to provide this beautiful place to enter the house, have meals, or merely relax and enjoy the creation around you.
