 WMU Emphasis for 2024-2026

What Joy!

The WMU Emphasis is an overarching theme for WMU’s various avenues of missions discipleship. Each two-year emphasis is a scriptural spiritual concept that provides a framework for WMU’s coordinated study and support of missions among all age levels. This cohesive structure of study allows a church to journey together in spiritual growth and fulfilling the mission of God.

During the 2024–26 church years, we renew our focus on the assurance of our God-given joy in Christ and how we can share our joy with others by serving them in His name.

Watchword: “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.” —1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV)

Objectives

  • We are passionate about the lost.

  • We are compelled by love.

  • We are generous in sharing.

  • We serve with great delight (joy).

Christian Women’s Job Corps Focus & Fundraiser

Stay tuned for more details!

Boxes are prepared for women in NC prisons at Christmas. We can’t go into the prisons but we can send a little bit of Jesus’ love in these boxes assuring them that they have value and there is hope and freedom in Christ.

Area churches gave abundantly, providing eough items to not only take care of the Women’s Prison, but WMU was able to send a large amount of items to an additional NC Prison.

PORT OF WILMINGTON SEAMEN’S CENTER

We don’t have to travel far away to share the love of Jesus and His gospel. The world comes to us on ships docking at the Port of Wilminton. Bags of love are handed out to the workers who spend most of their lives on these ships.

In 2025, toboggans and work gloves were collected and added to other supplies, tracks and Bibles and given in Christmas Bags to 650 seamen on ships from all over the world. What a wonderful waye to reach the nations.

Hope Baptist Church Fans

We are collecting new, unwrapped toys for needy children in our community, ages infant through 10 years old.

Generous area churches collected toys for the Annual Hope for All Nations Toy Store. Your generosity helped make Christmas special for 65 children and shared the love of Jesus with these young ones.
